Athletics
As with our physical education program a main goal of Harborlight’s Athletics is to develop both attitude and skill about recreational sports. Our athletics program engages students in a traditional team sport environment while encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship.
Sports
Each season the school offers one co-educational team sport, and invites all students in grades 4 through 8 to participate.

Practice
Teams practice for 1 hour, twice a week to prepare for hearty competition with other schools in the MAC (Montessori Athletic Conference). These teams also compete with other local independent schools during the scheduled season. In 2009, Harborlight became founding members of the MAC, a group of Eastern Massachusetts private Montessori Schools committed to “an atmosphere of spirited competition tempered by a cooperative attitude and upholding a sense of fair play and sportsmanship”. Embracing these principles, our athletes not only pursue personal and team accomplishments but also understand the benefits of healthy competition.
Towards the end of each school year, all MAC conference schools get together for a field day at a member's school.
